IF you’re planning to take your horse out on hound walk, make sure he’s properly attired: in a new Hound Welfare Fund saddle pad, that is! They’re beautiful and functional, and I’m assured that you can have the logo embroidered in almost any color under the sun. Cost: $35, and proceeds support the Iroquois Hunt‘s retired foxhounds.
The pads are Roma quilted pads. The full-size horse pads come in “pretty much any color,” according to Cice Bowers, who is arranging the orders, including white, black, navy, and green. Pony-sized pads, also $35, are available in black and white. Again, thread colors for the embroidered HWF logo are almost unlimited!
To get yours, e-mail the HWF at info@houndwelfarefund.org.
Make your check payable to the Hound Welfare Fund. We look forward to seeing you, your horse, and your horse’s HWF logowear on hound walk soon!

We can fix you right up with one! It’s not strange–it’s ASPIRATIONAL. The horse can’t be too far down the road, you’ll need a pad, why not get one now? Not that I have a vested interest … I took my hunt horse out this morning on hound walk, and that’s whetted my appetite, but, boy, we have a lot of fitness work ahead of us. I hope you’ve gotten out to ride!
I am SO getting this. A tad strange to do so before I have a saddle … or even a horse, though.
